Liminal Plane (Mirrors)

A new pattern centered on hexagonal motifs was developed for these pieces which was laser cut then hand built from layered veneer woods..

Each work is comprised of multiple layers of laser cut Italian veneer woods and inlaid with mother of pearl. The studio uses customised laser machines to cut each layer, the layers are all treated and assembled by hand in a process that requires skilled artisanship. 3D printed connection systems are hidden within the layered wood so that they appear floating above the mirror piece.The mirror sections are made from polished steel.
