about
Ibbini Studio is an award-winning art and design practice renowned for its innovative exploration of pattern and ornament through the interplay of craftsmanship and computation.
The studio is led by Jordanian-British artist and designer Julia Ibbini, whose background spans graphic design and maker culture. Julia works in collaboration with Stéphane Noyer, a French computer scientist specializing in computational geometry.
Ibbini Studio investigates geometry, structure, and systems of repetition through the use of algorithms and digital fabrication. The resulting works are produced using unique techniques and processes developed entirely in-house, involving a delicate dialogue between hand craftsmanship and machine. Individual pieces can take up to a year to realize.
In 2019, the studio was awarded the Van Cleef & Arpels Middle East Design Prize. In 2025, the studio was shortlisted for the 'Design Prize (Craftsmanship)' at the renowned Institut Du Monde Arab in Paris.
